Van Der Moon is a brand of Vitberg, which manufactures and distributes medical equipment. Van Der Moon is the sum of our experience as travelers and the background we have built over the years as Vitberg.

The production line at the Vitberg factory is a state-of-the-art workshop where human hands, assisted by specialized machinery, have been assembling advanced medical products for more than 30 years. The idea of making life easier on expeditions was born out of a need to travel. With the support of designers, machinery, and specialists, the design of the first Van Der Moon Moon Box was created – a locker for our Patrol that doesn’t creak or creak in the wilderness, in which things stay in place even on the biggest verges, and one that can be taken to a hotel room with us when needed. After fine-tuning, reinforcement, and careful sewing, we decided to share our product with the public!

A trip to Morocco in 2010 was initially planned for a year. We started with a long list of modifications for the car: suspension rebuild, lightweight plywood furniture, soundproofing the cabin, and a new electrical installation. However, our journey encountered engine problems just across the border. We had to return to Poland on a tow truck and quickly replace the engine. Two days later, with a heavy heart but a new engine under the hood, we set off again on our first adventure to Africa in our “expedition-ready” vehicle.

The road to Gibraltar turned out to be a torment. The squeaking furniture during the drive effectively spoiled the entire experience. Attempting to tighten them again didn’t help, and our journey through the off-road tracks of Morocco convinced us that for the next trip, we needed to create lighter camper van cabinetry that wouldn’t produce any noise while driving.

And that’s how the Van Der Moon Moon Box was born… and everything began.
