The Sprinter Wheel Speed Sensor is a mechanism that records the wheel speed and interacts with the vehicles anti-lock braking system (ABS). Due to the factory location directly behind the wheel hub this mechanism is highly susceptible to damage from rocks and debris encountered when driving off-road. Additionally, in cold weather climates snow and ice builds up on the sensor and is a common cause for a broken ABS Sensor wire.
