Our Autoterm Air 4B 12V Camper Van Gas Air Heater from Nomadic Supply Company comes with an analog or digital controller, a basic installation kit and an owners manual. The Autoterm Air 4B-HA is the ideal size air heater for Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans, expedition vehicles, emergency shelters, and overlanding vehicles.
If you are installing this heater on a 2007+ Mercedes Sprinter, you may have the KL1 auxiliary fuel tap installed on the top front of your fuel tank. If so, the fuel line is typically a 5/16″ nylon line which can connect to the heater with an adapter like the Dorman 800-188 fuel line adapter. If you do not have a fuel tap already installed on your fuel tank, you may need to drop the fuel tank to install the fuel tap.

The heater unit is supplied with fresh air from outside or well ventilated air from the room, which is taken through an air intake pipe to the internal combustion chamber. The received air is then mixed with the fuel, which is delivered through a metering fuel pump, and the air-fuel mixture is formed. This mixture is then ignited by a glow plug, which initiates the burning process to heat up the heat exchanger. Air is then drawn from the air inlet with a fan and passed through heat exchangers and the radiator fins. Finally, the heated air is pushed through the hot air outlet.
