The Hep_vO BV1B/UA 1 1/4″ Hygienic Self-Sealing Waterless Waste Valve is an innovative hygienic Self Sealing Waste Valve. The Hep_vO BV1B/UA replaces the traditional water-seal trap and prevents the escape of foul sewer air from waste discharge systems. Unlike conventional waste traps, Hep_vO does not rely on trapped water to create a seal. Water seals are prone to failure by Evaporation, Siphonage, and other Mechanisms. Instead, Hep_vO uses a self-sealing membrane that performs the same function as a water seal trap but without the risk of depletion or freezing.

Hep_vO BV1B/UA 1 1/4″ Hygienic Self Sealing Waterless Waste Valve actively eliminates negative pressure within the waste system by opening and allowing in fresh air until a state of equilibrium with the atmosphere is reached. This means that secondary venting of the waste system via the inclusion of air admittance valves in the waste system is no longer necessary.

HepvO BV1B/UA 1 1/4″ Hygienic Self-Sealing Waterless Waste Valve Installation:

HepvO can be installed vertically or horizontally, or any angle in-between. When installing horizontally a minimum allowable slope of 1/8” (3.175mm) per foot (30.48cm) must be maintained to ensure good drainage. This can be achieved by using the HepvO Angled Adapter supplied in the HepvO kit.

When installed at any angle other than vertically, the HepvO must have ‘ribs down’ to ensure correct drainage.

HepvO valves must be installed in the correct direction of flow which is clearly marked on the body of the product.

HepvO must be installed either immediately at the exit of each fixture, or in-line up to a maximum distance of 6ft from the exit of the fixture. Note that when used to protect a single fixture HepvO must always be installed upstream of any tees or branch connections to other waste pipes.

HepvO BV1B/UA 1 1/4″ Hygienic Self-Sealing Waterless Waste Valve Cleaning:

No routine or seasonal maintenance is required for the Hep_vO sanitary waste valve, however, should you blow out your drainage lines do not exceed 80-100 psi.

• Hep_vO is resistant to standard caustic-based drain cleaners. It is also resistant to acid-based cleaners with concentrations up to 10%. When flushing with higher concentrations of acid-based cleaner, the valve must be removed before the operation.
• If mechanical drain cleaning devices are to be used it is necessary to first remove Hep_vO from the waste system. This provides a useful access point for servicing downstream pipework.
• It is good practice to rinse the Hep_vO valve with clean water after any maintenance procedure.
