The triple clad bases outer layer uses the highest quality ferromagnetic stainless steel, specifically used to activate the magnetic field in all Induction cooking surfaces. 7 Piece set includes: 5 qt. The popularity of Induction Cooking has moved from residential applications to the marine market. Induction Cooktops, unlike traditional gas or electric coil cooktops, use a magnetic field to cause resistive heating directly in the pot or pan which in turn heats the food. This requires that at least one of the layers on the pot or pan must be made of ferrous metal (magnetic).

The advantage of induction cooking is, like gas cooktops, that it is instantly controllable, yet the cooktop itself remains relatively cool, reducing the possibility of burn injury.

Magma Nesting 7 Piece Induction Cookware (Stainless Steel) may be used on traditional cooktops or stoves as well. Like all Magma Cookware, the Induction Cookware sets completely nest in less than 1/2 cubic foot for convenient storage.

In 1976, identical twin brothers, Jim and Jerry Mashburn, created Magma Products. They were two young California sailors who, besides their love of sailing, loved to barbeque. However, experiments with attaching grills to their boat proved unsuccessful. The porcelain metal grills available in the mid 1970's were just not up to the task. After a short time attached to the stern of a boat, the grills simply rusted out and became completely unserviceable. Knowing the durability of stainless steel in marine environments, the twins set to work making a stainless steel grill that would withstand the hardships of a salt water environment. Over 40 years later, the brightly polished Stainless Steel familiar shape of a Magma Grill can be seen around the entire world. That original charcoal grill is still available and is now complemented with several propane models. There are mounting devices to accommodate any possible need, plus cookware and Tables to help prepare and to serve your food.
