At Epoch Batteries, we proudly offer our customers the highest quality lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries for marine applications. Our batteries have been specifically designed and engineered to meet the demanding needs of the marine industry, providing superior performance, safety, and longevity.

One of the key advantages of our LiFePO4 batteries is their exceptional safety. Our batteries have built-in protection circuits that prevent overcharging and over-discharging, significantly reducing the risk of fires or explosions. Additionally, our batteries have high thermal stability, which means they can withstand high temperatures without catching fire. This makes them the perfect choice for marine applications where a high level of safety is required.

Another advantage of our LiFePO4 batteries is their long lifespan. Our batteries have a cycle life of up to 3,500 cycles at 80% discharge depth, much longer than traditional lead-acid and other lithium-ion batteries. This means they need to be replaced less often, saving our customers money and time in the long run.

Our LiFePO4 batteries also have a higher energy density than lead-acid batteries, which means they can store more energy in a smaller space. This is particularly useful for marine applications where space is often limited. They also have a lower weight than lead-acid batteries, which makes them easier to handle and install.

Our LiFePO4 batteries also have a much wider operating temperature range than lead-acid batteries, which means they can be used in a variety of different environments. They can also be discharged to a much lower level than lead-acid batteries without damaging them, which means they can be used more efficiently.

Our LiFePO4 batteries also have a faster charging time than lead-acid batteries, which means they can be recharged quickly and used more frequently. They also have a low self-discharge rate, which means they can be stored for longer periods of time without losing their charge. This is particularly useful for marine applications where the battery may not be used for long periods of time.

At Epoch Batteries, we are committed to providing our customers with the best possible products and services. We are confident that our LiFePO4 batteries are the best choice for marine applications and stand behind them with a comprehensive warranty.

Fitting 300Ah Under The Step In My 2022 Leisure Travel Van

Fitting 300Ah Under The Step In My 2022 Leisure Travel Van
300 Ah Lithium Under the step.

I played a game of does it fit?

One of the topics that gets lots of interest on the forums is changing over to lithium batteries. As a tech nerd myself, I was wanting to make the switch but didn't want to spend the money for the "lith..." brand.

However, I wanted all the cool tech that they come with. After doing more searching than I care to admit, I found a battery that seems to check off my boxes:

> Self-Heating

> Bluetooth BMS

> Fits under the step

> Power button on battery

> Min 300 Ah

I found this Epoch battery that seemed to fit the bill, but I couldn't find any reviews about this specific model.

For the cost it seemed like a pretty good deal for the options. After about 3 weeks, I got it delivered to my front door.

I want to make note that I called the company and actually talked to a person in this country that was very helpful with some tech questions.

Now the installation.

I pulled everything out of the compartment, including the old plastic battery holders. FYI, I'm a little disappointed with LTV for just using self tapping sheet metal screws, as they just poke through the bottom and create a serious rip your skin off hazard.

I relocated the bus distribution bar from a vertical center location to a horizontal left location. This felt a little daunting, until I took it all apart and got a really good understanding of how it's all wired. I've wired car stereos that were far more complicated.

I put everything back together and it all worked awesomely, I changed the profile of the inverter, solar charge controller, and DC/DC charger. The DC/DC charger was way easier to adjust than I thought it would be, I just removed the side switch from the passenger seat, put my large hand in there and changed the settings. I didn't remove the seat or cut the vinyl.

After I took the metal plate and carpeted pads off of the battery cover, it all fit without any modifications.

I still have to fabricate a block to keep the battery from moving to the rear, even though it's really a tight fit and not likely to shift. Better safe than sorry.

I also put a thick rubber horse mat above the terminals to insulate the terminal and help keep it from shifting.

If this works well, I'll pickup another battery and put it in the compartment next to the inverter. As a bonus, there is a comms port on the battery to expand the system.

I haven't changed my inverter over to the 3k yet, but it's on my short list.
