Sika has dedicated considerable resources in developing the best roof sealant for EPDM roof membranes. The result is a novel solution in RV roof sealing: Sika Sikaflex 715 10oz. Polymer Self-Leveling Sealant (White), is a cross-linking chemical curing flexible, elastic, and durable roof sealant. This curing process imparts a highly elastic internal strength not found in traditional RV roof sealant products. Sika Sikaflex 715 10oz. Polymer Self-Leveling Sealant (White) will bond to a variety of roofing component substrates.
Unlike other roofing sealants, Sikaflex-715 lap sealant has very low VOC’s and won’t crack under the most extreme conditions. Traditional roof sealants have high shrink characteristics and crack when exposed to the environment.
Nomadic Supply Company recommends Sika Sikaflex 715 10oz. Polymer Self-Leveling Sealant for installation of MaxxAir Roof Vent Fans and all camper van air conditioners.
Surface Preparation
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from grease, oil, and dust.
For repairs, the removal of pre-existing products is crucial to avoid compatibility issues. Surface treatment depends on the specific nature of the substrates and is crucial for a long-lasting bond. Adhesion and compatibility have to be verified by tests on original substrates.
Application
Sikaflex®-715 can be processed between 5 °C and 40 °C (41 °F and 104 °F) but, changes in reactivity and application properties have to be considered. The optimum temperature for substrate and process material is between 15 °C and 25 °C (59 °F and 77 °F). Sikaflex®-715 can be processed with manual, pneumatic, or electric-driven piston guns as well as pump equipment.

Removal
Uncured Sikaflex®-715 may be removed from tools and equipment with Sika® Remover-208 or another suitable solvent. Once cured, the material can only be removed mechanically. Hands and exposed skin have to be washed immediately using a suitable industrial hand cleaner and water.
Do not use solvents on the skin.
Overpainting
Sikaflex®-715 is not suitable for overpainting.
