Scanstrut Self-Leveling Backstay Radar Mount (LMBF1)

The Scanstrut Self-Leveling Backstay Radar Mount (LMBF1) from Nomadic Supply Company is 2.6m (8’6”) high, and mounts forward of the backstay, keeping your radar away from any interference, leaving a clear deck free from obstruction. Our Scanstrut Self-Leveling Backstay Radar Mount (LMBF1) is constructed from the best marine-grade aluminum, designed to fit the most up-to-date radars from Garmin, Raymarine, and B&G.

The Scanstrut Self-Leveling Backstay Radar Mount (LMBF1) fine-tuned damping system reacts to major changes in the heel angle of the boat and is entirely maintenance-free with no power required. The supplied aluminum mounting poles come in two lengths with a hidden joiner piece. This allows you to route the cables down the channel for a clean installation.

The Scanstrut Self-Leveling Backstay Radar Mount (LMBF1) high-strength base eliminates loading on the backstay and can mounted on the deck, transom, or chainplate. A stainless radome cradle allows you to adjust for the backstay angle.  While the supplied nylon backstay bushing clamps around the backstay allow for cable tension to be adjusted. If you desire to mount it even higher, 0.6m extensions and 1.3m extensions are available.

Hydraulic damping
The main leveling unit features a fine-tuned damping system that reacts to major changes in the heel angle of the boat. It is entirely maintenance-free and no power is required.

Bespoke mounting pole
2.6m (8’6”) aluminum mounting pole, supplied in 2 lengths with hidden joiner piece. Cables are routed down a cable channel for a neat install. Extension pieces are available.

High-strength universal base for the mounting pole
Eliminates loading on the backstay. The base can be deck, transom, or chainplate mounted.

Suitable for any yacht
The stainless radome cradle has a fine-tuned adjustment for backstay angle and the product can be installed on both adjustable and split backstays (see faq for further information).

Nylon backstay bushing supplied
Clamps around the backstay allow cable tension to be adjusted.

Mount your radar higher
Additional 0.6m and 1.3m lengths are available to mount your radome higher
