WHY THE DAZZLE PATTERN REV TENT?
The Dazzle pattern was first used as a type of camouflage on warships in World War I. Unlike traditional camouflage, which is meant to conceal, the Dazzle’s goal is to make it difficult to estimate a target’s range, speed, and heading.
The Dazzle pattern gained the attention of Picasso, who claimed that Cubists like himself had invented it. Edward Wadsworth, who supervised the camouflaging of over 2,000 ships during the First World War, painted a series of canvases of Dazzle ships after the war, based on his wartime work. Today patterns inspired by the Dazzle are sometimes used to mask the exterior shape of test automobiles during secretive trials.
In nature, we found inspiration for the Dazzle Rev Tent in Zebra skin. There is a spirited scientific debate as to why zebras have such distinct black-and-white patterns. The most popular theories explain how in sunlight the alternating black and white (hot and cold) patterns create swirling air eddies that result in cooler temperatures, and that biting insects are repelled by the pattern because the visual confusion results in faulty depth perception.

For vehicle rooftop camping without the appropriately sized flat roof rack, use the optional C6 Outdoor Rev Tent Vehicle Rooftop Platform. The C6 Outdoor Rev Tent Platform mounts to most vehicle roof rack cross bars and roof racks just like any traditional vehicle rooftop tent.

Q: HOW DO I GET IN MY TENT?
A: For ground campers, there are 4 doors that double as windows. No more climbing over your sleep partner to get in or out of the tent! And we’ve made sure the side tent openings are super tall so you don’t have to commando crawl into the tent.
If you’re set up on a roof rack: However you want! Do you have a rear vehicle ladder? Spare tire and bumper you can climb on? Go for it. Tailgate, or strong hood? Just lift yourself up. No ladder is needed. If you don’t have a vehicle that works for climbing, the optional ladder works with all roof racks (the ladder includes jumbo rubber padded hooks at the top) and can be placed on either side or the rear of the vehicle.
If you use the Rev Tent Platform just climb up the included ladder.
Q: I WANT TO CAMP ON THE GROUND NOW, BUT MAY WANT TO CAMP ON MY VEHICLE LATER. CAN I UPGRADE?
A: The Rev Tent can be set up on the ground or in the back of a pick-Up truck* right out of the box. The Rev Tent comes with Guylines and Tent Stakes. When you’re ready to vehicle top camp, if you have the appropriate roof rack*, all you’ll need is a mounting kit (for Front Runner, Yakima, or Rhino Racks 48” x 84” / 1220 mm x 2134 mm or larger). If you have load bars or a smaller roof rack, you’ll need to purchase the Rev Tent platform.
Q: HOW DO I STORE MY REV TENT?
A: We recommend hanging it on your garage wall. If you don’t have a garage, you can store it under your bed, or in a walk-in closet. You can even break the mattress down and store the tent in the original boxes if necessary.
Q: HOW DO I GET MY REV TENT TO THE CAMPSITE?
A: The closed Rev Tent is 47.25” L x 42.25” W x 8.5” T / 120 cm x 107 cm x 22 cm. It only weighs 25 lbs. You can throw it in the bed of your pickup, or the trunk of a SUV. The Rev Tent even fits in the back of a Tesla.
Q: WHAT ROOF RACKS CAN I USE TO SET UP MY REV TENT FOR SLEEPING?
A: While you can transport your Rev Tent on smaller roof racks, to open the Rev Tent and secure it for sleeping, you will need a flat platform style roof rack 48” x 84” / 1220mm x 2134mm or larger. The Rev Tent has been designed to attach at specific points to the following Front Runner, Rhino and Yakima Racks:
FRONT RUNNER Slimline II: Any roof rack at least 11 slats long (85” / 2166mm or longer) This includes Slimline II Racks for the Jeep JKU, Jeep JL, Land Rover LR3/LR4, old and new Defender 110, G-Wagen, Toyota Land Cruiser 200, Toyota 4Runner, all Sprinter Vans and much more. (Note: the Rev Tent is not compatible with Expedition Rail Kit Sides on the narrowest 1255mm rack)

Because the Rev Tent case features a variety of tabs with mounting points, the Rev Tent can also work with other brand platform-style roof racks. For use with Prinsu Racks, you’d need to add additional slats to create proper support for the tent. You may need to get creative and take a few trips to the hardware store for the appropriate nuts and bolts to secure the tent to the platform.
